ACCELMED Hires Jason Xu, MD, PhD, as Medical Curriculum Manager

Indianapolis, Indiana – May 18, 2010 – ACCELMED has hired Jason Xu, MD, PhD, as a Medical Curriculum Manger in the Medical and Educational Affairs department. Dr. Xu, in alliance with expert faculty members, will be responsible for researching and developing educational content to be delivered to healthcare professionals.

Dr. Xu completed his postdoctoral research at the University of Notre Dame, where he received his PhD in Biochemistry in 2008. Prior to his time at Notre Dame, he completed his clinical residency rotation at China Medical University in Shenyang, China, where he trained in radiology, internal medicine, and surgery, among other areas.

Dr. Xu has coauthored publications in several peer-reviewed journals including Blood, Current Drug Targets, Thrombosis and Haemostasis, and The Journal of Biological Chemistry. In 2007, he was awarded the Tower R.C. Science Fellowship at Notre Dame, and in 2005-2006, he was awarded a predoctoral fellowship by the American Heart Association (AHA). Dr. Xu is a member of the AHA's Council on Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology as well as a member of the International Atherosclerotic Society and Sigma Xi, an Honorary Scientific Research Society.

ACCELMED Hires Cara D. Bilinsky as Project Manager

Indianapolis, Indiana – April 1, 2010 – In March of 2010, Cara Bilinsky joined ACCELMED as a project manager in the Educational Programs department. As project manager, she is in charge of maintaining project timelines and event schedules for CME/CE symposia, dinner programs, Web-based conferences, and enduring/archived materials while maintaining relationships with associations, clients, vendors, and faculty speakers.

She brings to ACCELMED years of industry experience. She was a Senior Project Manager with Walker Information for 3 years and an Account Manager with Avant Healthcare Marketing (a division of Deborah Wood Associates) for 5 years.

Ms. Bilinsky earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois and completed continuing education classes in project management from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in Indiana.

She is active in several charitable organizations. Ms. Bilinsky is former Indiana chapter board member for the American Diabetes Association and a county board member for Youth as Resources of Central Indiana, an organization that challenges local youth to indentify community needs and design projects that use their skills, creativity, and energy to help others in the community. Ms. Bilinsky is a graduate of Leadership United, a leadership development program through the United Way of Central Indiana.
